COME ALONG to an event AND HAVE A GREAT TIME & HELP TO RAISE MONEY FOR MARINE RESCUE SHOALHAVEN
Membership Benefits
Did you know that only one in three boats leaving the Crookhaven / Shoalhaven River log-on with Marine Rescue Shoalhaven. While it is not compulsory to log-on with your local Marine Rescue Unit, the most important reason for doing so is that if you do not log-off by your given ETR (Estimated Time of Return) we start looking for you. Initially this starts with a radio check, phone calls to your home and mobile numbers, a check of the ramp you launched from looking for your vehicle and trailer. Most times that we carry out these procedures the matter is resolved quickly owing to a member forgetting to log-off.
If you are a member of Marine Rescue Shoalhaven we will have all of the necessary details to contact you and identify your trailer and vehicle, this allows us to quickly ascertain your whereabouts in an emergency. This service is available to all boat owners for a mere $60.00 a year, slightly more than a dollar a week. It is certainly inexpensive peace of mind when you put to sea to enjoy a day out fishing or boating.
The annual membership fee also goes toward the maintenance and upkeep of our rescue vessels and the training of our volunteer crews.

Our core business is to provide marine Search and Rescue (SAR) services for the northern part of the Shoalhaven and up to 30 NM out to sea, from Jervis Bay in the South to Kiama in the North. As recreational boating has expanded, we have responded to the increasing need for the provision of boating safety patrols, radio monitoring, and emergency Search and Rescue services. All these services are carried out using the latest equipment and technology on our rescue craft and ashore at the Pilot House.
